North East indie-rockers Maxïmo Park have announced an intimate tour to launch their forthcoming seventh album.
Nature Always Wins will be released on February 26 via Prolifica Inc. They have already shared two tracks, Child Of The Flatlands and Baby, Sleep.
Today they released a third track, I Don’t Know What I’m Doing, and announced a 12-date of intimate venues to celebrate the album’s launch. You can listen to I Don’t Know What I’m Doing HERE.
The run of shows will kick off in February, in conjunction with some of the country’s best-loved record stores. Tickets will be on sale from December 1 HERE. Full dates below.
Maxïmo Park have been one of the UK’s leading alternative rock bands since their debut album A Certain Trigger achieved gold sales in 2005. It peaked at No 15 in the UK Album Charts, and every studio album since has made the Top 20.
Now trimmed down to a core trio of Paul Smith (vocals), Duncan Lloyd (guitar) and Tom English (drums), the band continue to make intelligent, thought-provoking indie rock, with a real social conscience.
Nature Always Wins as an album focuses on the Nature Vs Nurture debate and asks the question ‘who are we, who do we want to be, and do we have any control over that?’.
New track I Don’t Know What I’m Doing is the band at their most direct and agile, and lead singer Paul Smith says: “It’s about taking responsibility for how your own behaviour can affect other people, and how nobody knows it all, but that doesn’t stop us from trying.
“More personally, it’s about the fears and self-doubt I’ve experienced as a new parent, which we’ve tried to put across in our new video via the more abstract notion of an endless ladder!”
