
The line-up has been announced for the first wave of acts to appear at the UK’s first socially-distanced music venue.
The drive-in Virgin Money Unity Arena will open at Newcastle Racecourse, Gosforth Park, in August, for music and comedy shows.
People will arrive by car, be parked in accordance with social distancing guidelines, and be shown to their own private viewing area, which will be two metres between them and the nearest other platform.
Food and drinks can be pre-ordered, to keep the interaction between staff and customers to a minimum.
The first show at the venue will be a set by renowned funk and soul DJ Craig Charles on Friday, 14 August, with the first gig featuring Irish indie-rock band Two Door Cinema Club the following night.
