Punk rock survivors Ruts DC have released a new video for one of the highlights from their most recent album as they begin their latest tour.
Fresh and fighting fit from a lengthy European tour, the London trio return with an extensive December tour and a new video for Faces In The Sky, the opening track from last year’s acclaimed Counterculture? album.
“The video captures the intention of the song,” says bassist and singer John ‘Segs’ Jennings. “It’s the paranoia of these modern times. The lyric reads, ‘How can we tear the dream from a lie?’ – Beware the tech you wish for.”
The video perfectly compliments the songs sense of foreboding and dread, yet like all great Ruts DC compositions, it’s defiant and bold in its lyrical and musical approach.
Always a thrilling live band, Ruts DC are ending 2023 with a run of dates in December, displaying their impeccable musicianship and endless back-catalogue of rousing anthems.
Ruts DC are John ‘Segs’ Jennings on bass and vocals, Dave Ruffy on drums and backing vocals and Leigh Heggarty on guitar.
Their most recent release, ElectrAcoustic Volume Two (reviewed here), saw them acoustically re-imagine several of the songs from Counterculture?, along with a few old favourites.

Segs and Ruffy won’t be putting their feet up for long, as January sees them embark on a 15-date tour with punk ‘supergroup’ Dead Men Walking, with Jake Burns of Stiff Little Fingers and Kirk Brandon (Theatre of Hate, Spear of Destiny).
