Punk supergroup Dead Men Walking have announced they’re getting back together for a UK tour early in 2024.
Founding DMW member Kirk Brandon (Spear of Destiny/Theatre of Hate) is again joined by Ruts DC rhythm section Dave Ruffy and Segs Jennings, plus Stiff Little Fingers frontman Jake Burns.
They’re playing 15 shows in the first two months of 2024, starting in Dublin on January 23. It’s their first live dates since November 2021.
It’s being billed as part one of the Freedom – It Still Ain’t On The Rise tour, which suggests more dates will follow.
Dead Men Walking were founded in 2001 by Brandon and Mike Peters (The Alarm) with Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols) and Pete Wylie (Wah!).
Its revolving cast list of members has included Billy Duffy (The Cult), Slim Jim Phantom (The Stray Cats), Bruce Watson (Big Country), Captain Sensible (The Damned) and Chris Cheney (The Living End), plus various guests.
After a series of live albums, featuring stripped-back acoustic interpretations of songs by whoever was in the band at the time, the latest line-up released their first studio album in 2019.
Freedom – It Ain’t On the Rise was released to rave reviews (read ours here). It contained nine cover versions and four original songs.
