Punky-reggae legends Ruts DC have today confirmed a fresh set of UK tour dates – and dropped big hints about a new album.
The band, who haven’t looked back since reforming in 2011, only finished their last UK jaunt at the end of May.
Now, with the summer festival season in full swing, they are set to play at Rebellion in Blackpool and Luna Fest in Portugal next month.
Today they confirmed a 14-date UK tour, beginning in Colchester on 7 December and ending in Bristol two days before Christmas. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Tuesday 25 July from www.rutsdc.com.
The band – original Ruts rhythm section Segs and Ruffy plus guitarist Leigh Heggarty – also confirmed that a new album is on the way.
They wrote on their social media channels: “We are also throwing in the release of our brand new Ruts DC ElectrAcoustiC Volume Two album into the late summer/winter mix. Stay tuned for more news next week…”
The original ElectrAcoustic album was released in 2020, while the world was in lockdown. It featured acoustic versions of some of their best-known songs, like In A Rut, Something That I Said and Babylon’s Burning, alongside stripped-down versions of tracks from their excellent 2016 album Music Must Destroy.
Last year saw the band release Counter Culture?, their second studio album since returning to the fray.
