Billy Bragg has today been announced as the special guest at Rebellion’s festival within a festival, R-FEST.
The outdoor event will run alongside the world’s biggest punk and alternative music event in Blackpool from August 4-7 next year.
It will take place on the promenade right in front of the iconic Blackpool Tower, a short walk away from the main festival at the Winter Gardens.
The headliners have already been announced as Levellers, The Stranglers, Gary Numan and Squeeze, with a whole host of artists on the supporting bill.
Today, R-FEST revealed that the special guest to Squeeze on Sunday 7 August will be outspoken Essex singer-songwriter Billy Bragg, who’s been bringing punk attitude to his protest songs for more than 35 years.
“I haven’t played in Blackpool since the days when I was involved in a rebellion called the Miners’ Strike, so it will be great to be back there again as part of the Rebellion Festivals,” said Billy.
