Dropkick Murphys, the Celtic punk band celebrating their 25th anniversary, have announced their biggest-ever tour of the UK and Ireland.
Hailing from Boston in the US, they have just released their 10th studio album, Turn Up That Dial (reviewed here).
Now, after more than a year of being unable to tour, they’re getting ready to take it on the road.
They will play the biggest UK and Ireland tour of their career, with nine dates in February 2022, starting in Manchester and finishing in London.
Special guests will be Los Angeles ska-punks The Interrupters, who are known for their energetic live shows.

Founding member Ken Casey said: “Dropkicks are so excited to be back playing Ireland and the UK again.
“You’ve all treated us so well over the last 25 years, and it is a privilege to play for such amazing audiences.

Dropkick Murphys have built a dedicated fanbase around the world since being formed in Boston, MA, in 1996.
Mixing punk values with traditional Celtic sounds, they have sold seven million albums along the way.
Their best-known song is I’m Shipping Up To Boston, which features on their 2005 album The Warrior’s Code. Its fame is due to its use in the Martin Scorsese film The Departed.
Dropkick Murphys have a history of finding creative ways to connect with fans, and they’ve continued this tradition throughout the pandemic.
Live streams
On St Patrick’s Day 2020, just as Covid-19 was hitting critical mass in the US, they organised Streaming Up From Boston.
The live stream event replaced their usual Boston Blowout, where they play several hometown gigs around St Patrick’s week.
It’s been watched more than 13 million times, raising more than £40,000 for their charitable organisation, The Claddagh Fund.
In May 2020, they delivered Streaming Outta Fenway, at the home of the Boston Bruins, raising £500,000+for charities.
