Up and coming sibling duo The Molotovs have announced they will release their debut album early next year.
Wasted On Youth will be released on UK indie label Marshall Records on 30 January 2026, with latest single Today’s Gonna Be Our Day out now.
New single
The follow-up to debut 7in More More More, which came out in March, it’s available on all streaming platforms and as a limited edition coloured vinyl single b/w No Time To Talk, at select independent record shops.
Wasted On Youth promises to be is a vibrant explosion of new wave, punk, indie and garage-rock songs which mark The Molotovs as one of Britain’s most vital up and coming bands.
Today’s Gonna Be Our Day sees The Molotovs rejecting cynicism and political fatigue while encouraging empowerment, acting as a rallying cry for young people to take action.
“It’s an anti-complacency song”, says frontman Mathew Cartlidge. “A call to arms for my generation to keep the faith and reject apathy, recognising that it’s our time and our turn to make it better. If anything, it’s about the power of youth.”
Explosive
He and his sister Issey have won plaudits from fans and press alike for their explosive live performances, which have seen them hailed as one of the UK’s brightest young bands.
They’ve played over 500 gigs, despite still being in their teens, sharing stages with the likes of the Sex Pistols and The Libertines, and winning a shout-out from US punk legends Green Day.
Over the past 12 months, The Molotovs have enjoyed sell-out shows at Dingwalls and The Scala in London, performed at SXSW in Texas, sold out their first UK tour and supported the Sex Pistols in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust at The Royal Albert Hall,
The band is now set to join the Frank Carter and original Pistols Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock on tour across the US later this year.
