dead men walking

One of this site’s favourite bands, Ruts DC, have today announced the release date for their latest reimagining of some of their superb back catalogue.

ElectrAcoustic Vol 3 will be released on the Sosumi label on July 7, a month before they return to Rebellion festival in Blackpool, where they will be doing electric and acoustic sets.

Ruts DC have enjoyed a remarkable return since reconvening in 2007, with original members Segs (bass and vocals) and Dave Ruffy (drums) joined by Leigh Heggarty (guitar).

Acoustic takes

They released Rhythm Collision Volume 2, their first collection of new songs in 31 years, in 2013, and followed with the excellent Music Must Destroy in 2016.

ElectrAcoustic Vol 1 – acoustic takes of classics like In A Rut, Something That I Said and Babylon’s Burning, alongside songs from Music Must Destroy – was released in 2021 as the world emerged from lockdown.

A new studio album, Counter Culture?, followed in 2022, and last year brought ElectrAcoustic Vol 2, which again mixed newer tracks with old favourites like Backbiter, Love In Vain and Staring At The Rudeboys.

ElectrAcoustic Vol 3 is the same mix of old and new, with staples like Jah War, Society and Human Punk sitting alongside more recent songs like Too Much and Pretty Lunatics from the last album.

It’s available on CD, vinyl and download, and it’s available for pre-order now from the band’s website HERE.

To celebrate the release of ElectrAcoustic Vol 3, Ruts DC will be heading out on tour across the UK, on the dates listed below. Tickets are available direct from their website HERE, with no booking fees.
