Rising cross-genre punks Millie Manders and the Shut Up have today released a new single, Shut Your Mouth, ahead of a UK tour of the same name which starts on 19 October in Exeter.
The London-based band are known for their ferociously joyous live shows, grinding guitars, irresistible horns and pop appeal.
New material
MMATSU have been championed by BBC Introducing, Radio X and Vive Le Rock magazine, and are picking up new fans every time they play at festivals like Rebellion, Slam Dunk, Bearded Theory and Boomtown.
Shut Your Mouth is their first new material since Rebound, an ‘anti-Valentine’s song’ which they released on February 14.
The tracks are a taster of their eagerly-awaited second album, which is scheduled for release in 2024.
They released their 2020 debut, Telling Truths, Breaking Ties (reviewed here) to widespread acclaim, and it helped establish powerhouse vocalist Millie as a force to be reckoned with far beyond the DIY punk and ska scene where her band began in 2014.

Millie describes Shut Your Mouth as a track that delves into the concept of “fair-weather friends”, highlighting those individuals who only reach out when they want something from you.
MMATSU are Millie Manders on vocals, guitar and alto sax; Joe Quigley on guitar; Georgina Boreham on bass; and Pete Wright on drums and samples.
Tickets for their October/November tour are available HERE.
