Millie Manders and The Shut Up, one of the punk scene’s brightest rising stars, have announced a new tour for 2023 – plus some rearranged dates.
MMATSU enjoyed a breakthrough year in 2022, including two headline UK tours, their first German dates, and prestigious support slots with Less Than Jake and Ferocious Dog.
They also wowed crowds and won lots of new fans at several festivals, including Rebellion, Kendal Calling and North East Calling (reviewed here).
Now the band – whose debut album Telling Truths, Breaking Ties (reviewed here) was ranked No 3 in our best albums of 2020 (see the Top 30 here) – have announced more live shows, with new music on the way soon.
The band comprises Millie Manders (vocals), George Boreham (bass), Joe Quigley (guitar) and Pete Wright (drums) are gaining a growing reputation for their energetic live shows.
Fronted by Millie’s staggering vocal dexterity and backed by grinding guitars, they have a huge amount of cross-genre appeal, with a sound that encompasses punk, ska and much more.
Their last release was a cover of the Little Mix song Sweet Melody, like you’ve never heard it before!
Their rearranged dates – cancelled in November when Millie lost her voice – are as follows:
