Rebellion Festival might be postponed this year due to ongoing Covid restrictions, but HITS 25 aims to help fill the gap.
Festival or not, punk music fans from all over the country are still heading to Blackpool on the first weekend in August.
Rebellion 2021, due to take place from August 5-8, was cancelled in May due to continuing uncertainty over restrictions.
But when it was confirmed ‘freedom day’ is going ahead on July 19, Team Rebellion went into overdrive.
HITS 25 is born
With the help of the Winter Gardens, they present ‘HITS 25 – Celebrating 25 Years Since Holidays In The Sun,’ the event from which Rebellion Festival was born.
It’s on Saturday 7 August, with a main stage in the Empress Ballroom and an acoustic one in the Pavilion.
Cock Sparrer, Cockney Rejects, UK Subs, GBH, The Bar Stool Preachers, Dirt Box Disco, Maid Of Ace, Gimp Fist, Millie Manders And The Shutup, Fire Exit and Death Trails are all confirmed to perform in the Empress Ballroom.
Meanwhile, TV Smith, Attila The Stockbroker, Carol Hodge, Dave Sharp, Cherry & Peesh and a few others will perform on the more relaxed acoustic stage.
Admission to the all-dayer, which runs from noon to midnight, costs £21.50, with tickets available now.
Limited capacity
As it’s a one-stage main gig, capacity is limited and there won’t be as many tickets as usual.
Although organised by the same people, tickets for Rebellion 2020 or 2021 DO NOT give entry to HITS 25, but roll over to 2022.
The Winter Gardens will have FREE ENTRY on the Thursday, Friday and Sunday, providing a place to hang out.

Planning for Rebellion Festival 2022 is already well underway, with many of the headline bands from the cancelled 2020/21 events rebooked, along with three new bands.
The Stranglers and The Dickies are returning in 2022, and will be joined by first-timers the Levellers.
They join rebooked artists such as Circle Jerks, Bad Religion, The Undertones, Tom Robinson, Stiff Little Fingers and Ruts DC.
Rebellion 2022 will see the return of an outdoor stage, on the promenade right in front of Blackpool Tower.
