The six-headed partying beast that is the indie-folk-punk band Skinny Lister have announced their return with a new single and a 2021 UK tour.

The band, formed in Greenwich, London, in 2009, had a quiet 2020 planned anyway after singer Lorna Thomas had a baby in March.

But even the few summer festival appearances they had scheduled and a UK tour in the run-up to Christmas had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

They weren’t entirely inactive, however. A fifth anniversary edition of second album Down On Deptford Broadway, featuring extra material, was issued in October this year.

And a new single, Shout It Out, was released on YouTube on December 10 and made available to stream and download the following day. It is the first taste of their fifth album, which will be released in 2021.

Now the band, who made their reputation by playing joyously celebratory live shows, have confirmed that they will undertake an 11-date UK tour in November 2021,

Skinny Lister are the effervescent Lorna Thomas on vocals, Dan Heptinstall on guitar, vocals and stomp box, Max Thomas on melodeon, mandolin and vocals, Sam Brace on guitar, concertina and vocals, Thom Mills on drums and Scott Milson on double bass, bass and vocals.

Theirs is a raucous and high-octane very modern take on folk, which involves passing a huge flagon of rum around their audience, and their double bass player crowd surfing!

Signed to Xtra Mile Recordings, they have four albums to their name, most recently 2019’s The Story Is….

As well as playing their own shows they have toured with the likes of Dropkick Murphys, Frank Turner, The Bouncing Souls and Boy George!

Tickets for the November 2021 tour go on sale at 10am on Monday December 21 from www.skinnylister.com.
