Rising Bristol punk rock ‘n’ rollers Split Dogs have released another new single from their forthcoming third album.
Suffer is the third song taken from Nice ‘N’ Rough, which is due out on September 25 via Venn Records, and features some of the most personal lyrics singer Harry Martinez has ever written.
“It’s about carrying the weight of abuse long after it’s ended,” admits Harry. “The song deals with the struggle of letting the past dictate your happiness, but ultimately it’s about taking your power back, knowing your worth, and moving forward.
“For the video, we knew we wanted it to have that classic heavy metal video nasty feel, so we grabbed a green screen and a smoke machine and experimented with some moody lighting, and it came together really organically.”
2026 is set to be a big year for Split Dogs. They have already completed their own UK headline tour, and the summer will see them make multiple festival appearances, a headline German tour in July, and a string of instore performances in September around the record’s release date.
October sees them embark on a European tour with Canadian rockers Danko Jones, and they will round off the year with their own headline tour of Spain in November.
The four-piece crafted Nice ‘N’ Rough at The Station House, a recording studio in a repurposed Victorian police station in Leeds, with producer Jonah Falco (High Vis, Rifle, and drummer of Canadian punks Fucked Up) and engineer James Atkinson (formerly of seminal hardcore band Voorhees).
Split Dogs are Harry Martinez (vocals), Mil Martinez (guitar), Chris Hugall (drums) and Suez Boyle (bass).
