the drowns

One of the hardest-working punk bands around, The Drowns, have today announced the release date for their long-awaited fourth studio album.

The street-punk heroes, from Seattle WA, have become firm IPA Music favourites over the last few years thanks to their incendiary live shows and working class values.

Their incessant touring has made them a household name on the international punk scene, and staples of the Rebellion Punk Festival in Blackpool.

Today they announced that their new album, Harsh Reality, will be released on Pirates Press Records on 18 September, and shared its lead single, Relentless.

Harsh Reality is The Drowns’ fourth studio album, and fifth overall.

Singer-guitarist Rev Peters, singer-bassist Andy Wylie and drummer Jake Margolis laid down most of the songs on Harsh Reality as a trimmed-down three-piece.

While Relentless could easily refer to The Drowns’ non-stop touring regimen, it refers instead to something far more humanitarian: the crushing weight of capitalism on the working poor.

The song acknowledges the toll it takes on one’s mental health, struggling day in and day out with no breaks only to be left farther and farther behind. “I wish life would just give it a rest,” laments Rev.

Pre-orders for the album – produced by punk rock legend Bill Stevenson (Descendents, Black Flag) – are now underway HERE. It’s available on a number of eye-catching vinyl variants, including exclusive colours from Coretex Records in Germany and Georgetown Records in the band’s hometown.

The Drowns have a full schedule of touring throughout 2026, including dates over the summer with the likes of Agent Orange, The Bouncing Souls, The Suicide Machines, Death By Stereo, and Teenage Bottlerocket, as well as their annual trip to the UK for Rebellion.

Harsh Reality is poised to send the band’s hard-earned trajectory even higher, and sees The Drowns at the top of their game.
