Pennsylvania punks The Menzingers have today shared an upbeat new single, Bad Actors<\/em>, ahead of upcoming UK and EU dates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The song was chosen by the American football team Philadelphia Eagles as part of the official \u2018Eagles Gameday Series Soundtrack\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bad Actors<\/em> was played in-stadium and featured on the team\u2019s socials leading up to the 2022 Super Bowl final, further cementing the band\u2019s hometown roots. Until today, the only way to hear it was to stream via the Eagles app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Featuring bright guitars, melodic riffs and uplifting lyrics, the song was written during sessions for the band\u2019s sixth studio album. 2019’s Hello Exile<\/em> (reviewed here<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n

Singer\/guitarist Tom May explains: \u201cIt\u2019s one of the last songs we wrote for the album and finished it in the studio. It\u2019s an ode to a dear old friend that passed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Menzingers – featuring May and fellow singer\/guitarist Greg Barnett, bassist Eric Keen, and drummer Joe Godino – formed as teenagers in their hometown of Scranton, PA in 2006, later relocating to Philadelphia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After two albums on independent labels, the band switched to Epitaph debut for 2012\u2019s masterwork On The Impossible Past<\/em>, which was voted Album of the Year by Absolute Punk, Rock Sound and Punk News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fourth album Rented World<\/em>, which followed in 2014, was praised by The New York Times as \u201cpacked with clever songwriting\u201d and described by Stereogum as \u201ca colossal fist-pumper”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
