Pic: Sue Welford.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recorded at The Bunker in Sunderland, it&#8217;s produced by Phil Jackson, who&#8217;s done an excellent song of capturing their live sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Things kick off with <em>Rocker Billy<\/em>, an upbeat song about a rock &#8216;n&#8217; roll lover, and it&#8217;s a great opener, which sets the tone nicely for what&#8217;s to follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Serves You Right<\/em>, with its bobbling bassline and prominent keys, is another proper skanker, about chickens coming home to roost for bad behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s such a good fit for The Panic Report that I didn&#8217;t realise until I read the credits that it&#8217;s originally by British-born Jamaican dancehall DJ and musician Macka B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elsewhere, <em>Babylon Shim Sham<\/em> is a live favourite which is just as good on CD, while <em>Salut!<\/em> is a real earworm of a song.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"494\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/mensi-gig-the-panic-report.jpg?resize=640%2C494\" alt=\"the panic report\" class=\"wp-image-7531\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/mensi-gig-the-panic-report.jpg?resize=1024%2C791&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/mensi-gig-the-panic-report.jpg?resize=300%2C232&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/mensi-gig-the-panic-report.jpg?resize=768%2C593&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/mensi-gig-the-panic-report.jpg?resize=1536%2C1186&amp;ssl=1 1536w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/mensi-gig-the-panic-report.jpg?resize=2048%2C1582&amp;ssl=1 2048w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/mensi-gig-the-panic-report.jpg?w=1280 1280w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/mensi-gig-the-panic-report.jpg?w=1920 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>The Panic Report&#8217;s bass player Chris Brannan. Pic: Gary Welford.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Dirty Little Flag<\/em>, powered by a great guitar riff, seems to be about how the union jack was hijacked by Brexiteers and the far right, and is one of the standout songs here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ever-widening north-south divide is the subject of another highlight, <em>London You&#8217;ve Left Us Behind<\/em>. It asks &#8220;are we going to get together, or are we divided?&#8221; I think anyone north of Watford knows the answer to that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Panic Report - Dirty Little Flag (Official Audio)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/T0-LlGQVIqY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>You Liar!<\/em> is about the sort of shady characters who&#8217;d &#8220;sell your mother and your dog if you could find a buyer&#8221;, while <em>Mr Murdoch<\/em> is about the Aussie media mogul who seems to have far too much influence on the way this country is run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In truth, there&#8217;s not a bad track among the 12 served up here, so if you see The Panic Report playing near you, do yourself a favour, get along, and snap up a copy of this great album. <strong>8\/10<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul
