Pic: Jen Rosenstein.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many of the singles have been digital-only releases, and this 24-track 2CD collection on Little Steven Van Zandt&#8217;s label makes many of them available in physical format for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Down The Rabbit Hole<\/em> features material from throughout the band&#8217;s career, and kicks off with a pair of previously unheard songs, <em>Too Fun For My Health<\/em> and <em>Cloud Ten<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There&#8217;s a smattering of songs previously only available on compilations, and alternative versions of a handful of songs from their back catalogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Cover versions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Highlights of disc one include an alternate take of <em>Penny<\/em> (from 2004 debut album <em>Eat My Heart Out<\/em>) and an electric version of their Star Wars-themed love song <em>Be My Leia<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the real gems lie on disc two, in their well-chosen cover versions, which reveals much about the artists who have influenced them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Dollyrots - Just Like All the Rest (Lyric Video)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hT0QAzaVco4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thus we get hugely enjoyable takes on Nirvana&#8217;s <em>Breed<\/em>, Generation X&#8217;s <em>Dancing With Myself<\/em>, Rancid&#8217;s <em>Ruby Soho<\/em> and The Queers&#8217; <em>Punk Rock Girls<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We also get a run through Tom Petty&#8217;s <em>American Girl<\/em> and Katrina And The Waves&#8217; <em>Walking On Sunshine<\/em>, while The Undertones&#8217; <em>Teenage Kicks<\/em> is repurposed so the subject of the song is a guy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Dollyrots have toured several times with Texan pop-punks Bowling For Soup, so this collection wouldn&#8217;t be complete without their spirited take on BFS&#8217;s <em>High School Never Ends<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">UK tour dates<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Dollyrots are currently in the studio working on new music for release in 2022, with multiple tours in the works, including UK dates in April with Bowling For Soup and Lit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the meantime, get your hands on this and try to keep your feet still.
