\u2026And Their Paradise Is Full Of Snakes (Pirates Press Records)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Plizzken <\/strong>are a new band formed by Sebi Walkenhorst, frontman of German Oi! veterans Stomper 98, during last year&#8217;s lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He teamed up with bandmate Silvio Schlesier (guitar\/vocals), and they have come up with 13 slices of hard-hitting, anthemic streetpunk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first difference between the two bands is obvious, with Plizzken singing in English, rather than their native German.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/plizzken.jpg?resize=640%2C473\" alt=\"plizzken\" class=\"wp-image-6142\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/plizzken.jpg?resize=1024%2C757&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/plizzken.jpg?resize=300%2C222&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/plizzken.jpg?resize=768%2C567&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/plizzken.jpg?resize=1536%2C1135&amp;ssl=1 1536w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/plizzken.jpg?resize=2048%2C1513&amp;ssl=1 2048w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/plizzken.jpg?w=1280 1280w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/plizzken.jpg?w=1920 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption><strong>Plizzken is the new band from Stomper 98&#8217;s Sebi Walkenhorst.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That will immediately broaden their appeal beyond Stomper 98 fans, as more people will understand the lyrics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The songs have similar themes: social and political comment, working class pride and fighting for a better life, though to my ears Plizzken are more melodic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Dear All Happy People<\/em>, the lead single, was a good example of what to expect &#8211; an up-tempo tune full of riffing guitars and a huge singalong chorus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"PLIZZKEN - &quot;Dear All Happy People&quot; (Official Music Video)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yGhh1C-Q81I?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s probably my favourite track here, but there&#8217;s plenty more to enjoy, from opener <em>Wasted<\/em>, which reminds me of The Business, onwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Street Education<\/em> has a stomp which owes as much to glam as it does to punk, while <em>Memento Mori<\/em>, which reflects on the inevitability of death, could be by the Angelic Upstarts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Rude &amp; In fact, there&#8217;s not a weak track here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone who enjoys their punk served with plenty of passion should give this debut album by Plizzken a listen.
