Electronic pioneer Gary Numan<\/strong> today announced a major 2022 European headline tour as he prepares to release his latest album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The former Tubeway Army singer will release Intruder<\/em>, his 19th studio solo album, on BMG this Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s tipped to be a late career classic like 2017’s dystopian epic Savage (Songs From A Broken World).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early reviews suggest more of the same, and a European tour in support of the album was today confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It includes a first show at The SSE Arena, Wembley, since three sold-out farewell concerts there in 1981.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intruder is Gary Numan’s 19th solo studio album.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It’ll be his joint-largest headline UK show – a phenomenal achievement for an artist whose career spans over 40 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He made his name as the frontman of new wave band Tubeway Army. They enjoyed a No 1 album in 1979 with Replicas <\/em>and a chart-topping single in Are ‘Friends’ Electric<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That success continued when he went solo, and he had two further No 1 albums in The Pleasure Principle<\/em> (1979) and Telekon <\/em>(1980).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cars<\/em>, We Are Glass<\/em> and I Die: You Die<\/em> were big hits, and he enjoyed more success into the ’80s and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loyal fans<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Although he disappeared from the mainstream, he maintained a loyal fanbase. He returned to the UK Top 20 in 2013 after a 30-year gap with the album Splinter (Songs From A Broken Mind)<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stunning comeback was complete when Savage (Songs From A Broken World) <\/em>reached No 2 four years later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, after a career in which he has sold over 10 million records, Gary Numan can’t wait to play for an audience again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo say I\u2019ve missed touring would be a colossal understatement. It\u2019s the life I chose when I was a teenager, so not being able to tour the world has been very difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“But now things are changing once again and the next UK tour has been announced. I am as excited as I was when all this started for me a lifetime ago. More so in fact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soak up emotion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

“I can\u2019t wait to walk out onto a stage again, to hear the roar of the crowd, the ear-shattering volume of the music, to be bathed in light and soak up that emotion. It\u2019s what I\u2019m here for.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fans will have to wait until 2022 to see the album played live. But Numan and his band will perform a global live streaming event, Intruder: The Worldwide Concert Premiere<\/em>, on Thursday, June 17. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They will perform several songs from Intruder <\/em>for the first time, as well as a selection from his impressive career. Tickets are available HERE<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
