Indie-psych-punk duo The Lovely Eggs<\/strong> have announced they are rescheduling their February UK until summer 2021 – and adding some extra dates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The band \u2013 married couple David Blackwell and Holly Ross \u2013 have already had to cancel the UK tour promoting latest album I Am Moron twice after the live music industry ground to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, although a vaccine is reportedly on the way, the outlook for performing live remains uncertain, forcing them to rearrange the tour promoting latest album I Am Moron for the third time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The record (reviewed here<\/a><\/strong>) went straight to No 1 in the UK Independent Album Charts upon its release in April this year, and The Lovely Eggs have been itching to play it live for their growing fanbase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe response to I Am Moron blew us away and we couldn\u2019t wait to get on tour and play the songs live,\u201d said Holly. \u201cBut unfortunately we\u2019ve not been able to do that this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“With so much uncertainty about the months ahead it seemed the best decision was to move all our live tour dates to summer 2021. We really want a party with our Eggheads, and feel that in current circumstances the summer will give us the best chance of doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 22 dates (including four newly-announced cities) have seen many venues on the tour upgraded (after the original shows sold out with months to spare.) It includes the band\u2019s two biggest headline shows to date: the 1,500-capacity 02 Ritz in Manchester and the 1,000-capacity Charing Cross club Heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe just can\u2019t wait to play live again,\u201d said David from the band. \u201cWe\u2019re really looking forward to playing all the new songs off I Am Moron. This is a way of life for us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Support will be provided by fellow Lancaster band Dog Daisies in May, as well as Manchester poet Thick Richard. Poet and comedian Phill Jupitus will also join the bill at the 02 Ritz, while in London support will come from poet and comedian Rob Auton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the meantime the band have set up an Lovely Eggs WhatsApp Lockdown group for their supporters to offer support and a friendly ear to anyone struggling during the current pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve just got to try and get through this together\u201d said Holly. \u201cWe set up one WhatsApp group and it was oversubscribed so we had to set up another! Our fans have always been there for us and it\u2019s important at this time that we are there for them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lovely Eggs are wilfully independent, repeatedly selling out gigs across the UK without the help of management, a booking agent or record label.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
