If ever there was a new band with\u00a0confidence in their material it&#8217;s\u00a0this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today they have released a third single,<strong> This Island<\/strong>, and announced that their debut album <strong>Uppers <\/strong>will be released on 13 November on the Hand In Hive label.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube aligncenter wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"TV Priest - This Island\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/g_XyFJuKsLo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They&#8217;re so confident in its tracklisting that they&#8217;ve left the first two singles off it. The album will be available physically on both CD and LP, including a run of 300 strictly limited coloured vinyl through Recordstore. Pre-order Uppers <strong><u><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/prescriptionpr.cmail20.com\/t\/j-l-qulliht-trkjjujtb-t\/\" target=\"_blank\">HERE<\/a><\/u><\/strong>.<br><br>This Island, which addresses creeping nationalism, is another maelstrom of satire and melodic intensity, wrapped around a fiery polemic on the state of Britain in 2020, hurt but\u00a0hopeful.<br><br>Frontman Charlie Drinkwater said: \u201cThis Island is about incoherence and inarticulate responses, both personal and political, in a time and place you don\u2019t fully understand any more. It\u2019s an unrequited love letter, and a howl of frustration; a mea culpa and a call to arms. We wrote this to an increasingly nationalistic and isolationist drum beat playing out at home and abroad, and frankly we are scared and appalled.<em><br><br><\/em>\u201cAs artists we aren\u2019t offering up solutions for living, but maybe we can extend a hand and let someone know that you aren\u2019t alone in feeling under prepared in your responses yet powerful in your convictions. That small boats can still make big waves. Gigs were pencilled in for 2020, but thanks to the coronavirus outbreak, that remains their only live gig to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Uppers takes its musical cues from both post-punk stalwarts and\u00a0the mechanical, pulsating grooves of krautrock, with Charlie &#8211; a cuttingly funny, angry, confused,\u00a0real\u00a0frontman \u2013 weaving his words on top. If what we&#8217;ve heard so far is any indication, the album is one to look forward to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">TV Priest will also be playing their first headline dates in October this year, pandemic permitting.
