Indie-psych-punk duo The Lovely Eggs have today announced the cancellation of all scheduled live appearances for the rest of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The band \u2013 married couple David Blackwell and Holly Ross \u2013 have already had to cancel the UK tour promoting latest album I Am Moron once after the coronavirus pandemic struck, initially moving the dates to July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, with no sign of a relaxation on the Covid-19 restrictions which have brought the live music industry to its knees, they have bitten the bullet and rescheduled again, to February 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They said: \u201cThis is an absolute gutter for us, but with little direction from the government, we don\u2019t want to put people\u2019s safety and lives at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe imagine that even by autumn even if gigs CAN happen, they\u2019ll be very different to the usual Lovely Eggs experience and we don\u2019t want that! We want the normal Egg-shaped chaos that you\u2019ve come to expect from a Lovely Eggs gig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo, we\u2019ve taken the decision to postpone our touring until next year. All tickets for the old shows originally scheduled for April and rescheduled for July are now valid for the new shows in February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the cases where we have seen a venue change\/upgrade, the tickets for the original show in that city remain valid. Our shows at O2 Ritz in Manchester and Heaven in London have been rescheduled to May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe really hope people hang onto their tickets, not get refunds and join us next year. We live to tour and tour to live. This is our life and our livelihood. Once this shitstorm is over. We want a party like no other!! Looking forward to seeing you all next year!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lovely Eggs are willfully independent, repeatedly selling out gigs across the UK without the help of management, a booking agent or record label.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To ease the pain of their tour being pulled again, they will release a new single, Long Stem Carnations, on Friday, July 10, on their own Egg Records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The track, taken from the indie chart No 1 album I Am Moron, will be released on limited edition coloured 7in vinyl, with a new B-side, The Voyage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I Am Moron somehow seemed to point towards the unimaginable future we\u2019re now living in, as many of its songs are about isolation and living a new way in a different world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its mix of heavy psych, pop and strangeness won critical acclaim from many national outlets, which made it even more galling for the band not to be able to play live around the record’s release in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
