{"id":3187,"date":"2020-04-14T11:41:27","date_gmt":"2020-04-14T10:41:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ipamusic.co.uk\/?p=3187"},"modified":"2020-04-14T11:41:30","modified_gmt":"2020-04-14T10:41:30","slug":"sheffield-indie-band-little-man-tate-to-reunite-for-headline-hometown-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipamusic.co.uk\/?p=3187","title":{"rendered":"Sheffield indie band Little Man Tate to reunite for headline hometown show"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An indie band who were contemporaries of Arctic Monkeys and Reverend &amp; The Makers have announced their first gig in 11 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/little-man-tate.jpg?resize=595%2C591\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3189\" width=\"595\" height=\"591\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/little-man-tate.jpg?w=445&amp;ssl=1 445w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/ipamusic.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/little-man-tate.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 595px) 100vw, 595px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Little Man Tate<\/strong>, who were part of the same &#8216;noughties&#8217; Sheffield scene, are to reunite for a major headline gig later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Af<\/strong>ter a series of cryptic clues on social media, the four-piece today broke their silence to announce a reunion show at the O2 Academy, Sheffield, on Friday 18 September 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will be the band\u2019s first live appearance since their emotional farewell shows at the very same venue in 2009, where they performed to over 3,000 fans.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> The original line up of Jon Windle, Edward &#8216;Maz&#8217; Marriott, Ben Surtees\u00a0and\u00a0Dan Fields\u00a0will be looking to pick up where they left off to embark on a new and exciting chapter together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Frontman Jon Windle said: \u201cWe&#8217;ve had offers over the last few years to do something, but it was never the right time due to other things that were going on in our lives. This time it was perfect, we are all in a really good place and just can&#8217;t wait to do it.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Tickets, which are expected to sell fast, will go on general sale on Friday 24 April at 10am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Pre-sale is available for O2 + Ticketmaster customers on Wednesday 22 April at 10am<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketmaster.co.uk\/event\/1F005882E2C30F87?did=ukaetmpre\">here<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Little Man Tate, who formed in 2005, were stalwarts of Sheffield\u2019s thriving indie scene, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Bromheads Jacket, Milburn, Reverend &amp; The Makers and Arctic Monkeys to put the Steel City back on the musical map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nTheir\nself-released debut single The Agent was an instant sell-out, and the\nfollow-up What? What You Got? Saw them break into the Top 40.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nThat\nsaw them earmarked as one of the UK\u2019s hottest new prospects and\nignited a bidding war among record labels which saw them sign to V2\nRecords in 2006, and become Top 40 regulars with their next four\nsingles, including House Party At Boothy\u2019s and Sexy In Latin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nTheir\ndebut album About What You Know made it to No 27 in the UK Albums\nChart in 2007, and although they became a popular live draw, they\ncouldn&#8217;t sustain the momentum, and split in 2009 after their second\nand final album Nothing Worth Having Comes Easy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\nNow\nthey&#8217;re back together and ready to set the nation alight all over\nagain.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An indie band who were contemporaries of Arctic Monkeys and Reverend &amp;
