Subhumans have announced the release date\nfor a new album, which will be\ntheir first in 12 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with Crass and Conflict, they were one of the most influential bands of the UK anarcho-punk scene of the \u201880s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new album, Crisis Point, will come out on 13 September on Pirates Press Records on 12in vinyl, CD, and cassette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is the long-awaited follow-up to Internal Riot, which came out in\n2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frontman Dick Lucas said: \u201cSorry about the decade wait for something new – we don’t get to practice much! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnyways, it’s a stormer, with 10 new songs about terror\/pollution\/mind\ncontrol…and similar reflections on a world in crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sadly in some ways, Subhumans are just as relevant today, in the days of\nTrump and Brexit, as they were during the darkest days of Thatcher\u2019s Britain. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take your choice in how to label them \u2013 punk, UK82, anarcho, crusty, \u2013 there lies the attraction and consequent reason for their popularity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Formed in 1980, the band epitomised non-conformity and connected with people in many different scenes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their 1983 debut LP The Day the Country Died, with its Orwellian influence, is considered a classic, and has sold more than 100,000 copies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They released two more albums before splitting in 1985, and Lucas subsequently joined Culture Shock and then formed political ska-punk band Citizen Fish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After playing a couple of reunion shows in the \u201890s, Subhumans returned permanently in 2004, releasing the Live In A Dive LP, followed by their most recent studio album in 2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passion and anger drive them on, and Lucas says: \u201cThe live experience of\nsharing it with people keeps it ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe release of anger, frustration and initially negative\/destructive\nstates of mind is a release from the downward spiral of keeping it all bottled\nup and it feels positive\/constructive as a
