An all-day festival which brings together garage-rock bands from all over the UK \u2013 and as much pizza as you can eat – is returning to York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Pizzafest <\/strong>is being held for the third time at York Fulford Arms<\/strong> on Saturday, March 21, and ordering a ticket in advance is only \u00a310 \u2013 saving you \u00a35 on the price on the door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nevent, curated by York rock ‘n’ roll duo Snakerattlers, features 11\n-underground garage-rock bands from throughout the UK. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Halfway\nthrough the event, a truckload of pizza arrives and you can eat as\nmuch as you like. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will also host the single launch from York\u2019s own motorpunk rockers Segregates<\/strong>, and for one night only, you can get their new 12in vinyl single Preach to Me 12\u201d vinyl single for just \u00a36.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A spokesman for Pizzfest said: \u201cBand times are to be announced, but a ticket gets you in all day and gets you free pizza. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPlease\nbuy tickets if you are coming. It saves you \u00a35 and it saves the\nvenue and promotional team from worrying about the event breaking\neven.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THEE GIRL FRIDAYS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four\nScottish gals from the garage, with fire in their eyes and venomous\nstings in the devilish tails. Scorching hot, wild garage rock from\nthe depths of your granny\u2019s doily-covered basement. You\u2019ll find\nyourself dancing alright. These ladies are making a name for\nthemselves throughout the UK and Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SNAKERATTLERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cacophonous two-piece trash rock ‘n’ roll, performed by an enraged married couple from York, forever hell bent on ruining your evening and your ears. Blasting guitars, hammering drums and howled vocals. Dark, mongrel outsider rock that has no limits and desecrates many genres. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

THE STRAYS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mesmerising\nsonic succulence from four vagabonds who come from Cheltenham, one of\nthe poshest cities in England. What happened? They should have gone\non to be politicians or scientists but instead they made a band. And\na bloody good one at that. Western Star Records certainly think so.\nAfter dropping out of the first Pizzafest due to injury, it\u2019s great\nto finally have them play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE SLEAZOIDS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Does\nwhat it says on the tin. Sleazy rock ‘n’ roll played by some\nbeautiful outsiders from Sheffield. Flavours of such greats as The\nCramps and Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs are taken on board and bent to their\nwill, in order to inflict their own dangerous garage musical cocktail\nonto the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

SEGREGATES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\nthey are. The big, hard lads from York are releasing a 12\u201d vinyl\nsingle and Pizzafest will be the launch for it. Cheetah-fast,\nmotorpunk rock ‘n’ roll with a massive bass sound and a guitar that\ncould fill a stadium on its own. Proper rock ‘n’ roll that\u2019s as\nreal as it gets. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

SURF MUSCLE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wonky,\nwonderful, mysterious surf instrumentals played by three fandabbydozy\npeople from Sheffield. Best mates with Sleazoids, this lot. True\nstory. When watching, do the dance when you move sideways, make peace\nsigns over your eyes and kick your legs out to make yourself think\nyou\u2019re in the 60s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

HELLFIRE JACK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harrogate\u2019s\nfinest. Heavy garage blues that snaps and snarls like an angry\nDoberman. Mess with this band at your own peril. Dirty big riffs and\nwomping huge breakdowns topped off with a vocal that cuts like a\nserrated knife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

THE BIKINI BOTTOMS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another\nScottish band gracing Pizzafest. Whizzing down from Glasgow without a\ncare in the world. This is a real enigma of a band. A killer look\ncombined with a stripped back psychobilly-esque sound. Jingle-jangle,\nwingle-wangle. Let\u2019s \u2018ave it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

WHAT\u2019S WRONG WITH HOMER?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nband with the scariest profile picture on all of Facebook. Noisy,\njumpy, twitchy garage noise in the style of Ty Segall is the order of\nthe day here. Revved-up amps, hair flapping about all over the place,\nextreme sloprock and a razor cut vocal approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PERCY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

York legends on the comeback trail. Percy have been treading the boards of stages for many a year with their legendary post-punk garage pop. Darlings of BBC 6 Music and a real gem of the York scene. Come early to get your fix. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

GILLMAN<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nman from the Black Lagoon. After having to pull out of the last\nPizzafest due to touring with another band, we welcome York\u2019s\nmysterious, one-man rockabilly band.
