Pic by Derek Bremner.<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLast summer there were protests all over the United States called \u2018No Kings\u2019, in opposition to the current administration, the policies they\u2019ve been implementing, and the rights they\u2019ve been taking away from citizens,\u201d explains frontman Gregg Deal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhile the issues are obvious, it\u2019s important that we all say it out loud. It\u2019s important that we show up and make our opinions known, that we won\u2019t allow our inherent rights to be trampled upon for the benefit of the Epstein Class.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The song&#8217;s message is unequivocal as Deal sings: \u201cNo kings, No masters, Kick against fascist bastards!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNot unlike <em>Nazi Teeth<\/em>, <em>No Kings<\/em> is meant to bring the points home,\u201d he continues. \u201cICE, rights being taken away, mass shootings, greed over life, demonising immigrants, black, brown and queer people, widened economic gaps by the Epstein class, and the sincere frustration Americans feel over this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Dead Pioneers - No Kings (Official Lyric Video)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hgMqN5Cv3mw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;While this is happening, we realise that the right-wing politics coming out of the United States is emboldening conservative right-wing politics all over the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We are against dictators, authoritarian regimes, Nazis, fascism or any other power structure, political, social or otherwise that seek to take away the rights, freedoms or lives of human beings trying to live their life. To that, we keep it simple: NO KINGS.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dead Pioneers were formed during lockdown in 2020 when Deal hooked up with drummer Shane Zweygardt and guitarist Joshua Rivers, and they released their eponymous debut album in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What followed was \u201ca series of strange accidents\u201d that led to the group signing to Hassle, befriending Jello Biafra and touring with kindred spirits like Pennywise, Propaghandi, and Pearl Jam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Dead Pioneers - Nazi Teeth (Official made everything seem so accessible when I was a kid,\u201d says Deal. \u201cLike, simply having the balls to get up on stage and stage dive and then be carried off by people that become your best friends once they get your feet back on the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, punk rock was reaching out its hands to Dead Pioneers and pulling them onto larger and larger stages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The group &#8211; completed by Abe Brennan on guitar and Lee Tesche on bass &#8211; returned that favour by simply getting better and better: their second album, 2025\u2019s <em>PO$T AMERICAN<\/em>, was sharper, angrier, funnier than the debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The upcoming third album, <em>Wagon Burner<\/em>, promises to be heavier, harder but also more accessible, with guest appearances by kindred spirits Cheap Perfume, The Interrupters and Sleaford Mods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Wagon
