Eggs<\/strong> have today announced a new album as they prepare to hit the road to celebrate their 20th anniversary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Holly Ross (guitar and vocals) and David Blackwell (drums) are a fiercely DIY duo who make, distribute and promote their music completely independently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the course of seven albums and a couple of dozen singles, they have forged their own path, building a faithful (and growing) underground following.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today they announced a very special limited release, <em>Bin Juice<\/em>, which is a collection of self-recorded outtakes from their last album <em>Eggsistentialism <\/em>(reviewed here), alongside rare B class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Released on their own Egg Record label, it will feature eye watering artwork by Casey Raymond and come hand packed in a black plastic bin bag on neon toxic slime green vinyl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is another collectible release from a band who care as much about the art and ideas in their records as they do about the sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe had all these spare songs after we released our last album <em>Eggsistentialism<\/em>, and we didn\u2019t really know what to do with them,\u201d explained Holly. class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey just didn\u2019t seem to fit in with the vibe of <em>Eggsistentialism<\/em>, but we\u2019d recorded them and wanted to get them out there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey\u2019re kind of a sketchbook of songs,\u201d added David. \u201cThey\u2019re not polished or laboured over, but we thought it would be interesting to release them. It\u2019s why we called the record <em>Bin Juice<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;These were songs we had thrown away. But hopefully people like going through bins collecting trash.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Lovely Eggs - The Grind\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/H9AMU2hGthY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first taste of the album is the track <em>The Grind<\/em>, which Holly explains: \u201cEverybody wants an excuse to escape the 9-5 and day to day normality. It&#8217;s our raison d&#8217;etre for being in a band. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;<em>The Grind<\/em> looks at all that stuff and is a bit of a paperback anthem for the disenfranchised and disillusioned.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Bin Juice<\/em> will be released on 12in vinyl and CD on Friday 17 October.
