One of this site’s favourite bands, Ruts DC<\/strong>, have today announced the release date for their latest reimagining of some of their superb back catalogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

ElectrAcoustic Vol 3<\/em> will be released on the Sosumi label on July 7, a month before they return to Rebellion festival in Blackpool, where they will be doing electric and acoustic sets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ruts DC have enjoyed a remarkable return since reconvening in 2007, with original members Segs (bass and vocals) and Dave Ruffy (drums) joined by Leigh Heggarty (guitar).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acoustic takes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

They released Rhythm Collision Volume 2<\/em>, their first collection of new songs in 31 years, in 2013, and followed with the excellent Music Must Destroy<\/em> in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ElectrAcoustic Vol 1 <\/em>– acoustic takes of classics like In A Rut<\/em>, Something That I Said<\/em> and Babylon’s Burning<\/em>, alongside songs from Music Must Destroy<\/em> – was released in 2021 as the world emerged from lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new studio album, Counter Culture?<\/em>, followed in 2022, and last year brought ElectrAcoustic Vol 2<\/em>, which again mixed newer tracks with old favourites like Backbiter<\/em>, Love In Vain<\/em> and Staring At The Rudeboys<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n

ElectrAcoustic Vol 3<\/em> is the same mix of old and new, with staples like Jah War<\/em>, Society <\/em>and Human Punk<\/em> sitting alongside more recent songs like Too Much and Pretty Lunatics from the last album.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s available on CD, vinyl and download, and it’s available for pre-order now from the band’s website HERE<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
