Green Day have confirmed the release date for a new album, and huge UK gigs to promote it in 2020.
Father Of All … is the title track from their 13th studio album, Father Of All Motherfuckers, which will be released on Reprise/Warner Records on February 7 next year.
Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool have also confirmed they will be bring their Hella Mega Tour, which features Fall Out Boy and Weezer, plus The Interrupters as special guests, to the UK and Ireland next June.
They will play the following dates:
24th – Glasgow, Bellahouston Park
26th – London, London Stadium
27th – Huddersfield, The John Smith’s Stadium
29th – Dublin, RDS Arena
Formed in Berkeley, California, in 1986, Green Day are one of the best-selling bands of all time, with more than 85 million records sold worldwide and 10 billion streams.
Their 1994 breakout album Dookie, which sold more than 10 million copies globally and went triple-platinum in the UK, is credited with reviving mainstream interest in punk rock, catapulting a career-long run of hit singles.
In 2004, the band released American Idiot, which captured the world’s attention, selling more than 7 million copies in the US alone and winning a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album. In 2010 a stage adaptation of the record debuted on Broadway, to critical and commercial acclaim.
The band’s most recent album, 2016’s Revolution Radio, was hailed as their most focused work in years, and debuted at No.1 in the charts in both the US and UK.
