The organisers of North West Calling punk all-dayer have this week cancelled the rearranged 2020 event, due to continued coronaviirus restruictions.
Originally due to be held in Manchester on 6 June this year, it was postponed until 21 November in the hope the live music scene might have began to recover after the Covid-19 pandemic.
But continued restrictions on live music and mass gatherings – which show no signs of being lifted – mean the organisers have had little choice but to postpone until 2021.
A post on Facebook confirmed the bad news that we’ve all been expecting: “Sorry to announce, due to Covid 19, we can confirm North West Calling, due to take place on Saturday 21st November 2020, will now be rescheduled to Saturday 5th June 2021.
“Stay safe, stay healthy … tickets remain valid for the new date…please keep them if you can. Look forward to seeing you next year.”
The line-up remains Sham 69 (Pursey, Parsons, Treganna, Guy), Rezillos, Angelic Upstarts, The Outcasts, Goldblade, Dirt Box Disco, Gimp Fist, Hung Like Hanratty, Duncan Reid & The Big Heads, Vomit and Litterbug.
The decision is a big blow for the promoters, who have already had to postpone Scotland Calling and North East Calling until next year.
