The line-up has been announced for the first wave of acts to appear at the UK’s first socially-distanced music venue.
The drive-in Virgin Money Unity Arena will open at Newcastle Racecourse, Gosforth Park, in August, for music and comedy shows.
People will arrive by car, be parked in accordance with social distancing guidelines, and be shown to their own private viewing area, which will be two metres between them and the nearest other platform.
Food and drinks can be pre-ordered, to keep the interaction between staff and customers to a minimum.
The initial line-up is as follows:
Fri 14 August – Craig Charles
Sat 15 August – Two Door Cinema Club
Sat 22 August – Supergrass
Thur 27 August – Tom Grennan
Sat 29 August – The Libertines
Sun 30 August – Jason Manford
Tues 1 September – Bill Bailey
Sat 5 September – Maximo Park
Tickets for the first batch of shows go on sale at 10am on Friday 10 July from HERE.
