Fast-rising ska-punks Millie Manders And The Shutup have shared the video for new single Your Story and announced the release date for their debut album.

The track – available now at all the usual digital platforms – is the second taken from Telling Truths, Breaking Ties, the long-awaited first long-player by the band, which will be released on 23 October.

MMATSU are a five-piece based in Norwich and London, consisting of Millie Manders (vocals/alto sax/ukelele), James Pendle (guitars), Georgina Boreham (bass), Alessandro Vitiello (drums) and Dom Walker (tenor sax).

For the last four years they’ve been creating cross-genre punk that’s increasingly hard to ignore, while growing their fanbase with unforgettable performances at festivals like Rebellion and Boomtown.

Their lyrics address loss, betrayal, anger, anxiety, heartbreak, bitterness, environmental catastrophe and political unrest, and at the heart of it all is Millie’s astonishing voice.

“Your Story was inspired by a short, intense relationship where I was, unfortunately, a rebound,” says Millie.

“Having being very guarded, it took me a long time to let this person in. They said all the right things and I fell. That was when they decided they had said it all too early.

“Watching their ‘stories’ on social media and wishing I was still part of them inspired the chorus, the first part of the song to be written.”

To coincide with the release, a limited-edition T-shirt and vest are available now from the band’s official website, with £5 from each sale being donated to NHS Charities Together.

The band’s planned UK tour in April had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Dates are being rescheduled for when it’s safe to do so, and an announcement on the full tour will follow.
