Californian hardcore legends Circle Jerks are the first band to be confirmed for the world’s biggest punk music festival, Rebellion, as it begins to plan its 25th anniversary celebration in 2021.

This year’s event, which was due to be held at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool from August 6-9, was cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Circle Jerks were due to make their first-ever appearance at Rebellion in 2020, and the festival organisers confirmed today that they have rebooked them for next year.

They wrote on their Facebook page: “We’ve started the process of re-booking bands that were cancelled this year and putting in offers for the bands on our wants list for 2021.

“We’re not going to rush this, it’s early days and still 14 months until the festival. We’re also still in a period of uncertainty for many, so confirmations may take a little longer.

“However, over the next week or so we’re going to be letting you know who we’ve already secured so you can see that plans for our 25th anniversary are well underway.

“We’re really excited that our FIRST confirmation is a band that have never played Rebellion before and a booking that went down so well and were definitely going to be a highlight for many of you.

“We’re really pleased that the CIRCLE JERKS have confirmed that they’ll be coming next year! Let’s start spreading some GOOD NEWS!”

Fans who had bought tickets for Rebelllion 2020 have been urged to keep them, as they will now admit them to the 2021 event, which will take place from August 5-8.

Tickets for next year are on sale now from, with early bird prices applying until August 31.
