One of the longest-established Celtic punk bands around, The Real McKenzies, have announced the release date for a new album.

Beer And Loathing, the band’s 11th studio album, will be released on Fat Wreck Chords on July 3.

The first taste of it was shared this week when the band released the video for the title track as the lead single.

Founded in Vancouver, Canada, in 1992 by larger than life punk-rock poet laureate Paul McKenzie, they have been spreading their message to an ever-growing throng ever since.

And while the genre can be a little overcrowded, you’d be wrong to write off the McKenzies as just another Celtic punk band.

They are an unstoppable force who meld driving punk rhythms with traditional Scottish melodies to create a sound like no other.

The Real McKenzies were formed in 1992 in Vancouver.

From sharing the stage with the likes of NOFX, Rancid, Flogging Molly, Metallica and Shane McGowan, to appearing in film, books and video games, and signing with the legendary Fat Wreck Chords, their story continues to grow.

Their latest album blends guitars and bagpipes, with frontman McKenzie – the only constant member – spinning yarns of times long past and recounting drunken revelries.

The songs are rebellious, poignant and achingly heartfelt, with extra-large helpings of Scottish charm and wit to boot.

Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to their music, the anthemic songs are sure to get your blood flowing, your heart pumping, and your glass raised.

Beer And Loathing is available to pre-order now direct from Fat Wreck in the US and elsewhere, from Stomp Records in Canada, the FAT Webstore hosted by Kingsroad in Europe, and the FAT Webstore hosted by Artists First in Australia and New Zealand.
