A North East punk ‘supergroup’ were forced to get creative when it came to making a video for their latest single.

Like the rest of the UK, the members of Monkey Mind have been unable to get together due to the social distancing measures introduced to fight the coronavirus pandemic.

So the band – guitarist Lee Wright of Crashed Out, Michael Algar (Olga) from The Toy Dolls on bass, and drummer Martin Paynton from The Panic Report – made separate videos for the track Get Rid Ov Him, and edited them together.

The resulting promo video, which was shared this week, is the third track released by the band, who formed in Newcastle in 2018.

First single Local Lass was released in September last year, and they followed it with a second song, Small Man Syndrome.

The band are working on a full-length album, and hope to play some live dates when they have enough original songs to make a set.

If you can’t wait for the album you can download all three of the tracks Monkey Mind have released so far from their Bandcamp page here.
