Darkest Hour Of the Night is taken from the career-spanning compilation Teenage Wildlife: 25 Years Of Ashwhich will be released on February 14. The song is available to stream here.

Penned once again by singer and guitarist Tim Wheeler, the previously unreleased Darkest Hour Of The Night was recorded last year at Atomic Heart Studios in New York. Featuring  horns by renowned American art-pop band Rubblebucket, it’s a very different sound – but still unmistakeably Ash.

The band have also confirmed an Absolute Radio show event at London’s O2 Forum later this month on a special bill alongside Stereophonics. The show on January 21 will act as a warm-up for their own European and UK shows throughout February, March and April.

The forthcoming compilation Teenage Wildlife: 25 Years Of Ash has been curated by the band themselves, and brings together hits and lesser known gems from the past 25 years.

It features the original and current three-piece band of Tim Wheeler (vocals, guitar), Mark Hamilton (bass), Rick McMurray (drums), as well as the four-piece which added Charlotte Hatherley on guitar.

Teenage Wildlife: 25 Years of Ash will be released in February 2020 via BMG.
