Punk legends the UK Subs are preparing for the latest leg of their never-ending tour, which celebrates the 40th anniversary of their second album.

Brand New Age was released in 1980, and became an instant punk classic thanks to songs like Warhead, Teenage and Emotional Blackmail.

Now Charlie Harper – still rocking at the age of 75 – is hitting the road again with the latest line-up of his band to play the album in full.

Last year was the 40th anniversary of their debut album, Another Kind Of Blues, and they marked it by embarking on an extensive tour where they played it in full – the Newcastle gig is reviewed HERE.

Now Charlie (vocals and harmonica), Steve Straughan (guitar), Alvin Gibbs (bass) and Jamie Oliver (drums) will give the follow-up the same treatment.

They play a couple of warm-up gigs before hitting the 100 Club in London as part of the Resolution Punk Festival, and then pack their bags for a month-long European tour which kicks off in Paris and takes in 12 countries.

After a few weeks off, they’ll return and take the Brand New Age tour around the UK, and then hit the festival circuit over the summer, including their annual appearance at Rebellion in Blackpool in August.

The UK Subs continue to entertain, enlighten and enthuse with blistering recordings and enthralling live shows. Like a vintage wine, they seem to just get better and better.
