The original ‘70s band, fronted by Jimmy Pursey, top the bill as the one-day punk festival returns to Northumbria University in Newcastle on Saturday 26 September 2020.

Also back by popular demand are another 70s act, THE ADICTS, whose spectacular show won them lots of new friends at this year’s NEC.

One of the most popular new bands on the scene, HUNG LIKE HANRATTY, will return for their second appearance at NEC.

And old favourites GOLDBLADE, who haven’t appeared for several years, will return for one of just a handful of UK dates.

VOMIT, from Manchester, will make their first appearance, as will Brighton band BAR STOOL PREACHERS, who appeared at the venue a couple of years ago as support to Cock Sparrer.

Another band making their NEC debut are anarcho-punks CONFLICT, while FIRE EXIT, from Scotland, will make a welcome return.

Rounding off the bill are three North East bands, NEC favourites GIMP FIST and CRASHED OUT, and LOGOZ, who will also be making their first appearance.

NEC promoter Jon Connor said: “We’ve gone for melody rather than noise this year, and we think the line-up will have something for all tastes.

“Sham 69 with Jimmy Pursey always put on a good show, and so many people said they loved The Adicts this year that we had to ask them back.

“We’ve also got some bands who are returning after a couple of years away, as well as some who are joining us for the first time, and some old favourites.

“Hopefully it’ll be another memorable North East Calling which will appeal to punk fans in the region and beyond.”
